Physical Therapist Assistant Students Support Food Pantry

When Nash Community College’s food pantry needed food items, a group of students rose to the challenge. Physical Therapist Assistant students collected nonperishable goods to help stock the pantry for students in need.

As part of the campus effort of serving the whole student, NCC opened the food pantry in 2014 to address student food insecurities. “With the semester beginning and us having more students on campus, the need for food has been greater recently,” Kara Deans, NCC Associate Dean of Student Engagement said. “The food pantry is stocked solely by the generosity of faculty, staff, student clubs and friends of the college.”

Students in need of food may email the NCC Student Wellness Center at swell@nashcc.edu, visit nashcc.edu/wellness or call 252-428-7368 for a referral to the food pantry.
