Students Train for Careers as Maintenance Technicians
Nash Community College students are preparing for careers as maintenance technicians.
In Ricky Joyner’s HYD 110 Hydraulics/Pneumatics I class, students recently participated in a competition assembling pneumatic training arms. The arms serve as demonstrations on how pneumatic components work in an automation system to aid in picking up and moving objects. This exercise allowed the students to fine tune their mechanical design, application and troubleshooting skills.
The Hydraulics and Pneumatics course introduces the hydraulic and pneumatic systems and covers topics like standard symbols, pumps, control valves, control assemblies, actuators, filters, regulators and lubricators, maintenance procedures and switching and control devices.
Enrollment for spring semester is open. Classes begin January 9, 2022. For more information, call 252-443-4011.
