Nash Community College Offers Heavy Equipment Operator Course at No Cost

Nash Community College builds course offerings to meet the needs of the community. Starting Feb. 20, NCC will offer an Intro to Heavy Equipment Operator course at no cost to the student.

The course is designed as a six-week curriculum where students will learn the responsibilities of a heavy equipment operator, different types of equipment and safety practices.

Upon completion of the course, students will receive an OSHA 10 certification, forklift certification and first aid/CPR certification.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who are interested in heavy equipment or want to get a leg up and improve their skills in their industry,” said Carla Dunston, dean of continuing education at NCC.

The course will run until June 6, and it will be in three different offerings. Students will get an opportunity to meet local industry leaders and explore career opportunities in the field.

Class one: Feb. 20 – March 28

Class two: March 18 – May 1

Class three: April 30 – June 6
